DESCRIPTION:Join Fall Creek Falls State Park July 20-24th for our Spirit of America Boating Youth Boating Camp! \nThis five day camp offers youth ages 12-15 the opportunity to learn essential water safety and boating skills and even obtain their boating license! Participants will learn how to operate small boats\, canoes\, kayaks\, sailboats\, and more! \n**All students that do not already have their boating license must purchase the $10 boating safety exam permit and bring it with them on the first day of camp.** \nThe first day of camp we will meet at the Rec Hall Building 2001 Village Camp Rd. Spencer\, TN 38585 \nProgram fee is $75. \nVisit the Event Page for further details and to apply for Spirit of America Boating Youth Camp. Applications due by July 1st.

SUMMARY:Helpful History in the Falls City Cotton Mill @ Rock Island State Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Aubrey to explore the history of the Great Falls Cotton Mill. Participants can drop in from 10a-11a to view the inside of one of Rock Island’s unique features! The Falls City Cotton Mill made a huge impact on the landscape that would one day become Rock Island State Park. Parking can be found in the Great Falls parking lot that provides access to the Mill and to the Caney Creek River Gorge. Participants are encouraged to understand that the building has not been modernized and does not have a system for heating or cooling. Please dress comfortably. The building is unfortunately not ADA accessible at this time. We recommend that you wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water. In the event of inclement weather\, this event may be cancelled.

DESCRIPTION:Join seasonal ranger Kat to sketch nature at Twin Falls. Feel free to bring your own supplies\, but pencils and paper will be supplied to all participants. You are welcome to follow along with instruction or choose your own subject. There will be no bathrooms available in this section of the park\, so be sure to take care of your needs before attending this event. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen\, as there will be a small hike from the parking lot to the drawing location. Make sure to bring water!

DESCRIPTION:Join seasonal ranger Kat for a .3 mile hike to the historic Cunningham Cemetery! This is an easy hike with lots of shade. We will talk about the different plants that we see along the way\, as well as the history of the family cemetery. Bring water and comfortable shoes that you are able to hike in. There are no bathrooms nearby this trail\, so make sure you take care of your needs beforehand.
